Assistance for Homeless Veterans
VA's Programs for Homeless Veterans
In addition to the several veterans benefits provided by the Veterans Affairs Department is a program for homeless veterans. The mission of this program is to give our veterans assistance and a better place to live as they ought to have it.
Statistics said that roughly 200,000 veterans don't have permanent homes. Some reasons of this reality include scarcity and lack of support from their loved ones & friends. The Veterans Affairs (VA) is the sole federal department that provides hands-on assistance to homeless personnel who have served in the armed forces. They have already granted more than four hundred awards to public and nonprofit groups to help homeless veterans in 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Related programs for homeless veterans include the following:
1. VA's National Cemetery Administration and Veterans Health Administration
2. HUD-VA Supported Housing (VASH) Program
3. VA's Supported Housing Program
4. Stand Downs
5. VA Excess Property for Homeless Veterans Initiative

A Silent Prayer
During the last Monday of the month of May, the entire United States is observing the Memorial Day. It was formerly recognized as the Decoration Day wherein the citizens of United States honor the military service men and women who died to their country. The first Memorial Day was observed to acknowledge the Union military who gave their lives throughout the American Civil War. It was then expanded to include those service personnel who died in the time of their duty in various wars or military attack after the WWI.
The nationwide commemoration happens at 3PM, Eastern Time. All throughout this day, people are visiting to the cemeteries and mausoleums to pray and remember their loved ones. This is also a perfect time for reunions and sporting affairs as it was considered as the informal beginning of the summer season. In addition, many people are also organizing associated programs where political and communal leaders are delivering dialogues to the people.
This year's Memorial Day falls on the 26th of May. Even though there are many military sectors such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) are contesting to fix its date on May 30, the celebration will still continue this year. Many VIPs including electoral candidates are expected to share their thinking and feelings for this day via their privilege dialogues and congregations.
A call for a real and heartfelt observance of this day is resonating from our hearts and most especially from the loved ones of these heroes. Let us halt for a while and relive the moments of our fellow countrymen who have undoubtedly risked their lives to make us live. Our veterans, although they have been freed from deaths all throughout their service era must be also rendered with significance, care and love. Gone are the days of battle for them but the real battle to live are not yet over.
Make this day not just for the departed ones who have been heroes for their family and this country but also a day for each one of us who are waiting for a peaceful and valuable world.

Various State Veterans Benefits
Different State Benefits for Veterans
The veterans benefits given to the American retired members are different in every state. While each state has the same benefits such as educational grants and scholarships, home loans & mark-offs on fees and taxes, as well as exclusive exemptions and pension programs, there are still some benefits that are not available in other states.
Personnel of the United States' troops can have knowledge about their benefits by inquiring to the State Department of Veterans Affairs they belong to. By visiting to the particular offices, service personnel can have clear understanding of what the state has to give. Members can also inquire to the National Association of Directors of State Veterans Affairs (NADSVA) that administers the list of 50 states and four territorial (common wealth) Veterans Affairs offices for more comprehensive details.

Giving Our Veterans Benefits They Deserve
Time flies and the resilience, intense eyesight and proficiency to hold a gun have all been things of the past. But the courageousness and the memories of living in a war will always remain in their soul. Our veterans - what happens next after they have laid their lives?
Our beloved veterans have been into different hells in struggling for a cause. Now that they have reached their lives' decisive point, are they are truly cared of? Without the strength as well as the vibrant vista and memory that has been robbed by their age, these once well-equipped and strong service personnel are now watching the sunset silently in their chairs.
The government plays a vital task in the well-being and safety of our veterans. Different benefit programs and laws have been made to secure their rights and meet their significant needs. These benefits also cover the immediate household and dependents of the veterans, of which varies from one state to another.
These benefits include money-support on education, home loan assistance, life insurance as well as regular compensation and social security and vocational rehabilitation. The benefits don't only limit as long as the retired army is living, it still endures by rendering burial and funeral benefits, thus giving them a modest and well-deserved last commemoration for their unparalleled service for their promised responsibility.
In addition to the government, there are also several support assemblies and non-government organizations that provide privilege programs and benefits to the country's service men and women. All of these monetary related programs, free and with charge is something that our veterans are thanked for because it's giving them an opportunity to live a better life after the battles. Nevertheless, that should not end us from providing them care and love? everyday.
Life can not be compared to an old and weary pistol that when polished again can instantly recuperate its power to shot straightly. It's not also like time that will continuously move its hands after a 24-hour voyage. The life of these people, just like ours is just borrowed from the ALMIGHTY, only their playground is a world of blast and painful death rows.
Let's all be touched by their steadfast service and the unconditional love of their family. They have been a part of our lives, in one way or another so it's always been a great thing to commend life with them not just every 11th of November but everyday and until their last days. Let them feel the priceless treatment so they won't be waving their hands with a heavy heart when it is time to leave.
