Nokia dominiert Smartphonemarkt

Fast die Hälfte aller im abgelaufenen zweiten Quartal 2006 auf dem Weltmarkt abgesetzten Smartphones stammten von Nokia. Auch wenn der finnische Branchenführer Einbußen hinnehmen musste, blieb die Symbian-Plattform das dominierende Smartphone-Betriebssystem. Insgesamt wurden im genannten Zeitraum fast 20 Millionen Smartphones auf dem Globus abgesetzt. Damit haben die Absatzzahlen erstmals fast die 20-Millionen-Grenze innerhalb eines Quartals erreicht.

Mit einem Marktanteil von 46,9 Prozent dominierte Nokia den Smartphone-Markt im zweiten Quartal 2006 übermächtig mit 9 Millionen abgesetzten Geräten. Im Vorjahr kamen die Finnen sogar auf einen Marktanteil von 49,6 Prozent, wie die Marktforscher von IDC berichten. Nokia bietet ausschließlich Smartphones mit Symbian als Betriebssystem an, so dass vor allem die Finnen für die Dominanz des Symbian-Systems verantwortlich zeichnen.
