Grid Wars

Grid Wars 2 is coded by Mark Incitti. Thogh a clone of Geometry Wars for the XBox 360, this one isn't less fun at all and available for Mac(!)
Not very easy to control and visually overloading, it's huge fun and brings this 'fast quitting - fast restarting' effect so familiar with past Amiga 500 games.

Pancake Mountain
Jamie just sent me a mail with this link and it's great!Pancake Mountain! It's a show for children featuring e.g. Anti Flag, they've got Henry Rollins in the show, George Clinton, the Scissor Sisters or M.I.A and the Go! Team!
Tell Elmo and the Big Bird to wrap it up. Post a Link to Pancake Mountain on your blog, send them to your contacts. Nice one!

Hyungkoo Lee -

Hyungkoo Lee does creepy comic installlations.
I can't help it but I really like it, since it draws in western comic characters like donald duck etc. and twists it into a different direction. Combining elements of innocence and childhood and kicking them out of order with rather adulty themes - in this case death - is something I'd consider typically asian... artwise. In this case I even love it cause it exceeds the rather simple construction. It's humerous, pseudo-scientific, inherits cultural connotations from an unusual point of view and is just beautiful in it's simplicity.

JIT - Just In Time

Hmmm. No Time? Too much projects? Time for a second study? Recently I had no time to digg deeper in screen applications as e.g. the Pong Watch.
Martin Frey former UDK graduate developed the JIT Watch (video). A concept outlining a possiblity to keep up with your appointments and stay in time by tracking position and time left. Unfortunately the website isn't very precise on describing technological workings of JIT but hey, I wouldn't give such a concept away for free neither.

Early Morning = More Success
Speaking of keeping in time, you know that feeling: working till 3 a.m., going to bed and then coming too late to the appointment at 11 a.m... again! Yep, I'm rather staying in bed to the last very moment - in case there's nothing important on my timetable, but still I feel like I'd 'wasted' time.
Lifehacker's got a story up about boosting your productivity.
Tips in a nutshell:
Lifehacker's got a story up about boosting your productivity.
Tips in a nutshell:
- Put your alarm clock in the bathroom. (rather difficult, cause my flatmates would kill me, seriously)
- Don't use the snooze function, get rid of it. (Actually that's the only thing getting me out of bed. Latest I'm up at the 3rd ring.)
- Change the buzzer sound. (good one, but I already accustomed to my present clock and I won't buy a new one. That digital bastard next to my bed was really expensive)
- Place your alarm in a complicated acccessible place, e.g. place a combination locked box.
(what?!) - Check up with the time you need to recreate, adjust your sleeping habits and get into the routine. (yeah right, next one)
- Get up for a reason. Do something fun, something good for yourself. (Sleeping is the greatest fun I can imagine at 5 a.m.!)

Superpolator… by the way

This is a hard one. I'm working on my type project this semester. I threw things away a lot of approaches even more sketches and even started once all over again. Right now I'm working on kind of an exploration on Lucas de Groot's interpolation theory. It's actually quite fun from time to time!
Today I read an article on Fontblog and this one made me think again. I'm not close to restart everything I worked on but it leaves me here with a feeling of slightly futile work.
The idea of Superpolator is quite interesting. Take 4 fonts (well not fonts but rather vektors of glyphs) to define a designspace. Within this space Leterror's software gives you the chance to define points within this space to generate new forms (video).
Nice toy? I think it could be a huge timesaver and I lost motivation to continue today. Thank's Letterror ;)
I have some sketches of another approach here. Maybe I should start all over… again!
