favicon
How and where do you add a favicon (your blog's icon) to the rss skin to make it appear in a rss news reader?
older/newer stories
the older stories line in the typolis default layout is somewhat misleading just besides the most recent story. to locate "older stories" at the bottom of the page, and "newer stories" at the top of previous stories listings, you have to go to layouts -> frontpage and change the code into
<div id="pageNavigation">thus the storylist <% response.storylist %> is bracketed by the "newer stories" on top and "older stories" at the bottom.
<% response.prevpage %>
</div>
<!--<div id="innercontent">-->
<% response.storylist %>
<!--</div>-->
<div id="pageNavigation">
<% response.nextpage %>
</div>

Is typolis.net/promote now offline
again? Was a nice idea to merge all issues on social and cooperative web project, including the promotion of your own stuff.

days on frontpage
How can you tweak your typolis blog to show more than three-day's stories on the frontpage?
I'd like to show the stories of a full week on the frontpage.
(As I know from different antville installations this setting is done in the blog's preferences, but -- seemingly -- disabled in favour of a default setting of 3 days.)

Menu for admins
By default, this menu has six links: »Members«, »Preferences«, »Layouts«, »Modules«, »Referrers« and »Most Read Stories«.
This menu appears only for the admins of the specific blog. Upgrade the status of a blogmember in the members section.
»Preferences«, »Layouts« and »Modules« is for advanced users only. You can damage your whole blog with just one stupid click. So be carfeful and THINK before you CLICK.
If you ever clicked before you've thought and your blog doesn't work anymore send us a mail: trouble@typolis.net.
»Referrers« and »Most Read Stories« is the statistics section of you blog. OK, we must admit, it's not as cool as Google Analytics, it's more likely kind of »first steps in web statistics«.
For your personal second step in web statistics read our How to Integrate Google Analytics.

Menu for every user
By default, there are only the two links »Home« and »Tags« in the Menu for users.
These two links appear in every Blog, no matter if its your own one or not.
With »Home« you get to the homepage of the blog, e.g. typolis.net/yoursite.
With »Tags« you get to the overview of tags that have been used in this single blog. Explore the blog this way by tag.

some ideas
Thanks for assigning me SCIENCE. Some ideas and remarks from a user's point of view:
Could you open the help weblog to anybody to have a single space for questions and comments on the weblog?
And do you have a rss feed for the typolis starting page (homepage) to make it easier to follow the development process?
What rss version is provided?

Getting started
You know where to login? And you know where to register your blog? These are the two most important things. The rest is really easy.
Your blog has (for you as admin) three separated menus: on top the »menu for users«, next the »menu for contributors« and on bottom the »menu for admins«.
From these three menus you can administrate the whole weblog.

user navigation
actually, to change the part of the navigation sidebar that is the same for all users, call it 'user navigation', you have to access a hidden skin: go layouts -> navigation -> navigation bar for contributors and change in the bowser's path the contribnavigation by usernavigation. Now you may change the [blog] Home and tags lines.
Just think like the developers think.
