Flickr Map GeoCoding Bookmarklet

I just spend some time to create a slim bookmarklet that enables mapping, geocoding and (of course) geotagging directly in your Flickr photo page. It works with all common browsers (Firefox, IE, Safari, Opera) without the need for any extension.
To run it, simply drag it to your tool bar, visit one of your photo pages, hit it again and your done. No sluggishly page refresh, just simple AJAX style behind the curtain ;)
UPDATE
- Switch to fullscreen version (NEW)
- Smooth zoom when map was double clicked (NEW)
- Link to map added in description (NEW)
- Batch tagging: Remember last saved location (NEW)
- See where someone else's photo has been taken
- GeoCoder adjusted (try search for "nyc", "10101")
- Long/Lat input possible (eg. "N 40°45', W 73°59'")
- Easy EXIF geo data extraction (if you've used GPS-devices)
Localize Bookmarklet
ps: I developed it using dynamic scripts. So all future improvements will be available without any worry. If you miss something, drop it in the comments and I'm gonna care about...

Mobile Maps Japan

For Japan - the mobile society - it was no surprise that Google added Google Local with Maps for Google Mobile some days ago, immediately after local Google Maps introduction for Japan. Just like on your PC, enter any keyword and address or just town name, it returns list of shops or offices with click-to-call phone numbers, as well as Google Maps with push-pin placemarks - on your mobile phone screen.

Google Earth
Alles, was man bei NASA World Wind noch vermisst hatte. Ich bin gespannt!"The combination of improved interface, better images, and tight integration makes Google Earth a blazing success."
Google Earth Closed - But Maps API OPEN
Bad News first: The Earth download page is down. This is, what the Google Earth Page currently says:
So, leave the passive role of the spectator and build your own interActive maps using the freshly released Google Maps API:

(Google Earth - Temporarily Closed)"Thanks for your interest in Google Earth, but we're sorry we can't offer you a download right now. As you know, Google Earth is in beta, and we're still building out our ability to take on new users. ..."

Google Sitemaps
"Google Sitemaps is an experiment in web crawling. Using Sitemaps to inform and direct our crawlers, we hope to expand our coverage of the web and improve the time to inclusion in our index. By placing a Sitemap-formatted file on your webserver, you enable our crawlers to find out what pages are present and which have recently changed, and to crawl your site accordingly."

Google Ads for University

For the first time Google is promoting its services. And it is somehow strange to see picture ads on the used-to-be-reduced-to-the-max site.
Not sure wht to think about it: services.google.com/university
