Diane, wrap me up!
Yes, I have to admit it was kind of funny: Yesterday sitting in the mensa and looking into Tall-Annes horror-stricken face, widened eyes. Unbelievable. Small-Anne had just said that she saw a girl walking through the streets wearing a dress exactly like Tall-Anne's. Same Fabric, maybe even the same pattern. She couldn't tell. But that was already enough for Tall-Anne.
Yes. It is indeed painful but also a bit ironic if you sew your very special own wrap dress - a Diane von Fürstenberg lookalike - and just - swoop - someone else had obviously the same idea. That is just like H&M. As if you bought it there. That definitely sucks. If you sewed something yourself it should be a on-of-a-kind, it should be unique. That's a tragedy.
Or on other words: HAHAHAHAHA - that is vorbei!

Kristinit. Kristina Lenss. A NEW VINTAGE.

I found this on my daily round on nylonmag.com. Kristina Lenss' designs are gorgeous.
Latvian designer Kristina Lenss freshens up vintage-inspired fashion with her Kristinit spring line of limited edition silk marvels. Infused with a quiet luxury, Lenss' designs are playfully feminine. Culling from a background of studying design in London, art history in Santa Cruz, and costume design in Los Angeles, Lenss has designed for opera, film, ballet, and skiwear, before focusing her talents on her own line. Heavy on feminine designs worked in pastels and creamy colors on soft silhouettes, Lenss's inspiration is drawn from 1930s and 1940s Hollywood, such as the styles of Marlene Dietrich and costumer Edith Head, to Biba in the 1960s. "I love this kind of romantic blurring of time frames," she says. The result is sophisticated, vintage shapes lightened with droll detailing. Silk chiffon blouses are layered to add a touch of wispy glamour, a lace trimmed kimono top is adorned with carved pearl buttons, and a dropped waist, pleated dress is cast in tropical vintage print. The designer says, "Kristinit is for the girl, who, when old and withering, will be able to look back at pictures of herself and say, "Now I sure was one hot and classy looking girl." —SHELLEY WONG (Nylonmag.com)

Jem. Truly Outrageous!

Anyone remember "Jem"? I remember her pretty well. And I also remember that I once had a comic book of her and her life as a rockstar. The Story is about two sisters, Kimber and Jerrica, whose father just died. Then they are introduced to Synergy, a holographic computer created by their late father, who is able to create "Jem," an alter ego for Jerrica to front a rock and roll band. Jem and her band "The Holograms" are always competing with another band - the bad-girls of "The Misfits".

Now I found a great website about her cartoony wardrobe. It's a great collection sporting mainly crazy 80s fashion in all categories - beginning with onstage-costumes, ski-racing outfits and extraordinary swimwear.
I always thought that Jem is only a comic published as books, but now I see: It was a TV cartoon, too. But I think it was never aired on German television.

That was really a surprise. What a dress. I immediatly fell on love with it. I have to sew it. Cause the last left was too small. My boobs are too big - I'd always thought that this is impossible. Normally it's my hips. OK.
But the dress: a dream. Black with white little cutie-polka-dots. Totally feminin. It was € 99,- at - and now the surprise - C&A. Yes. Think about that.
It's Award Time Again!
